Collector’s Meet
Quality Inn, Somerset, PA
April 12-14, 2012
- Open to all with interest in fueled lighting. No membership required!
- Room shopping begins when you arrive.
- Lamp show on Saturday from 12 Noon to 4:00pm. Vendor setup: 9:00-11:00 am.
- Show tables available at $10 each; limit of three. If you need more, see us when you arrive.
- Saturday evening buffet just for us. Prepayment required. We must meet a minimum number of meals sold for us to have the courtyard for our lamp show. Please consider joining us!!
- Saturday evening seminar: “Will the real Practicus please stand up?” by Tom Small
LODGING INFORMATION:
All events are at the Quality Inn of Somerset. The Inn is located at the entrance to the PA
Turnpike.
Room block reserved for Wednesday through Saturday nights, whichever nights you
need. Room rate - $71.94 which includes local taxes.
Contact the Inn directly at 814-443-4646 for your lodging needs. Do not use the 800
number. Tell reservations you are with the Eastern Lighting Collectors to get the
special rate. Major credit cards accepted.
Reservations must be made by March 28th to get the group rate. If in doubt, reserve.
Pet friendly hotel – one time charge of $25.
Second floor accessible only by stairs. Vendors and seniors request first floor lodging!!
All rooms are non-smoking.
CUISINE:
Inn restaurant open only for breakfast. Continental breakfast is complimentary.
Many other dining choices available nearby and on North Center St. Fast foods also in area.
The Eat N’ Park restaurant offers a 10% discount when you show your Quality Inn room entry card.
SATURDAY EVENNG BUFFET:
We invite you to join us (dutch treat) at 6:00 pm Saturday for dinner in the Tropical Courtyard at the Quality Inn. If you plan to join us, your prepayment is required. The menu is prepared specifically for us. Entrees include top round of beef, chicken parmesan, and rigatoni with meatballs. Salads, hot vegetables, coffee or tea and desserts round out the menu. The $20 price includes tax and gratuity. We must sell a minimum number of meals to obtain complimentary use of the Tropical Courtyard for our lamp show. Failure to meet that number jeopardizes all weekend events. No refunds after March 31.
FUELED APPLIANCE RULES
For liability reasons and the personal safety of all meeting participants, the following rules are in effect and apply to the entire Quality Inn premises including individual lodging rooms, the Tropical Courtyard, hallways, and the parking area of the facility. Any appliance/device (such as for heating or lighting) that uses fuel under pressure is permitted on the Quality Inn premises only if the tank(s)/fuel reservoir is/are empty and the device remains unlit while on the Inn premises. Also, any and all devices that use highly volatile fuels such as camphene, gasoline or acetylene are permitted on the Inn premises only if their tank(s)/reservoirs remain empty and the devices unlit. Violation of these rules will result in the offender(s) being asked to leave the premises and in their possible permanent banishment.
Your registration with us for this meet indicates your acceptance of the above rules.
REGISTRATION:
When you decide to join us, please complete the enclosed registration form and return it to us by March 31st. To keep the meeting on a non‑profit, non‑loss basis, please enclose a registration fee of $8.00 per family (if postmarked by March 31). $10.00 after this date.
To lower postage expense, if you have an email address, please supply it on the registration form. When Tom Small receives your registration form, he will acknowledge receipt by email. And please make a special effort to make your email address legible. For those without an email address, a snail mail postcard acknowledgement will be sent.
